IT
is
well
knowen
in
Fraunce
,
how
at
the
end
of
April
last
,
Monsieur
de
Thore
,
in
the
kings
behalfe
,
went
vp
and
downe
in
the
towne
of
Senlis
,
conferring
with
the
good
and
faithfull
inhabitants
thereof
,
and
séeking
to
maintaine
the
people
in
their
due
obedience
to
the
king
his
Maiestie
.
He
then
had
thrée
dayes
space
before
that
the
Parisians
(
who
were
amased
to
see
the
sodaine
reducing
of
the
said
towne
to
his
Maiesties
obedience
)
could
come
thither
,
or
could
cause
the
Duke
of
Aumalle
to
come
and
besiege
the
foresaid
Senlis
:
during
which
time
of
thrée
dayes
the
said
Monsieur
de
Thore
had
leysure
both
to
furnish
the
town
with
victual
&
munition
,
which
he
did
aboundantly
prouide
of
all
things
necessarie
for
the
kéeping
and
defence
thereof
.
Also
he
caused
to
come
thither

of
choise
men
,
out
of
euery
the
villages
in
the
valley
and
Duchie
of
Montmorency

a
sufficient
companie
to
fortefie
the
towne

that
there
were
two
thousand
able

resolute
fighting
men
