this
present
,
by
any
of
his
said
Catholique
Subiects

We
haue
at
all
times
,
and
specially
since
our
Edict
of
the
moneth
of
Iuly
last
past
;
tryed
by
all
manner
of
meanes
possible
,
to
vnite
all
our
good
Catholique
subiectes
to
liue
in
concord
and
good
will
,
and
vnder
our
authoritie
:
to
the
ende
that
from
the
said
vnion
,
and
strength
that
shoulde
rise
of
it
vnto
vs
,
wee
might
reape
the
fruite
which
we
haue
alwaies
sought
after
and
endeuoured
vnto
,
to
clense
this
our
realme
from
heresies
,
and
to
establish
in
it
our
holy
faith
,
the
Catholique
,
Apostolicke
,
and
Romane
religion
:
for
seeing
plainely
,
that
there
coulde
spring
nothing
els
from
the
diuision
of
our
saide
Catholique
subiects
,
but
a
desolation
of
the
saide
religion
,
and
the
ouerthrowe
of
our
state
.
And
although
of
late
some
were
founde
neere
about
vs
,
which
did
striue
too
too
manifestly
,
in
our
presence
,
and
els
where
,
by
their
adherents
,
to
kindle
and
foster
the
saide
diuision
,
to
breede
in
euerie
one
a
misliking
of
our
proceedinges
,
and
to
bring
downe
altogether
our
authoritie
:
wee
notwithstanding
,
with
great
patience
and
equanimitie
,
haue
tollerated
the
effects
of
their
euill
will
which
they
shewed
in
this
behalfe
,
trying
by
all
fauour
and
good
vsage
that
wee
could
,
to
bow
their
hearts
,
and
bring
them
vnto
that
which
was
agreable
to
reason
,
for
the
good
&
quiet
of
our
said
state
,
&
the
maintaining
of
our
said
catholique
religion
.
They
neuerthelesse
not
beeing
withdrawen
from
their
pernicious
practises
,
neither
through
the
saide
effectes
of
our
gentlenesse
and
holy
purpose
,
nor
through
any
other
consideration
;
wee
founde
out
that
they
were
growen
so
farre
,
as
to
haue
attempted
a
freshe
against
vs
and
our
authoritie
which
to
withstand
,
wee
haue
beene
constrained
,
to
our
great
griefe
,
to
preuent
their
sinister
practises
.
But
for
the
singuler
good
will
,
which
hath
beene
bred
with
vs
,
and
alwaies
continued
,
and
will
continue
towards
our
saide
Catholique
subiects
,
with
like
care
of
their
quietnesse
,
safetie
,
and
preseruation
of
their
liues
,
that
a
Father
might
haue
ouer
his
children
;
we
haue
vsed
such
gentlenesse
and
moderation
in
the
same

as
to
restraine
and
stay
the
punishment
in
the
heades
onely
and
authors
of
the
euill
,
hauing
spared
their
adherents
and
seruants
,
and
receiued
them
among
ours

vpon
the
promisse
which
they
haue
giuen

hence
forwarde
loyall
and
faithfull
subiectes

although
as
well
by
our
former
actions
,
as
by
this
our
latter
doing
,
wee
haue
giuen
such
euident
witnesse
of
our
holie
intention

gentlenesse
,
and
clemencie
;
that
no
man
neede
to
doubte
thereof
:
notwithstanding
to
make
it
more
manifest
to
all
men
,
wee
for
these
causes
,
haue
signified
,
declared
,
and
protested
,
and
by
these
presents
doe
signifie
,
declare

and
protest

that

that
which
is
happened
,
hath
beene
for
nothing
else
,
but
for
the
infringing
of
our
said
Edict
in
the
moneth
Iuly

since

publication
thereof

for

execution
of
that
which
is
conteined

it

will
and
intent
is
to
haue
it
kept
,
obserued
,
and
maintained
from
point
to
point
,
as
a
grounded
lawe
,
as
we
haue
established
it

and
sworne
in
the
assembly
of
our
states

according
to
the
forme
and
tenor
thereof

Yet
notwithstanding
to
assure
all
other
which
may
haue
beene
partakers
of
contrarie
demeanor
therevnto
,
that
they
shall
neuer
be
called
in
question
for
it
,
and
to
maintaine
them
in
the
vnion
of
our
other
Catholique
subiects
vnder
one
obedience
:
we
haue
put
vp

buried

and
abolished
,
and
doe
by
these
presents
put
vp

bury

and
abolish

of
our
full
power
,
speciall
fauour
,
and
royall
authoritie
,
all
that
,
wherein
they
may
haue
faulted
in
the
behalfe

their
duty
of
obedience
which
they
owe

obseruation

edict

shall
not
hereafter

atached

molested

that
