1. HE that shall steale any Catell shal be hanged / and the like punishement all Theves that rob howses shall receaved .

2. All those that shall rob any man and kill him / shall be broaken upon a wheele .

3. Who-so-ever he be that doth strike / hurt / or ransome his host or hostes / or any poore people / shal be hanged .

4. He that is payd his wages / and shall take any thing of his host without payeing for it / by force / and against his will shall be hanged .

5. He that shall be fouud to be a falce wittnes shal be hanged .

6. He that shall burne / breake / or carrie awaye the howsehold stuffe in the howse where he is lodged / shal be hanged / and further : the valew of the sayd howsehold stuffe shall be deducted out of his paye that did it upon the hosts oathe taken / what they were worth , which shal be arbitrated by the Provost Marshall .

7. He that shall cut downe a fruict tree / or shall breake any Vines branches / shoot at Pigions in dove coates or when they flie shall be punished with all arbitrable amends for the first time / and the second time with corporall punishement .

8 He that shall have a whore to keep him company in the Campe / shal be discharged / and the whore whipt .

9. He that shal be attainted and found to have bin assistant in any cryme committed / or seeing it don / did not oppose himself against it nor cald the Neighbours / to staye the malefactor shal be punished corporally .

10. All Captaines / Officers / and Soldyers / shal be bound every night to sleep in their quarters not only to impeach and hinder the Soldyers from committing any disorders / but also to be reddy to receave such commaundements and commissions as shall be given them .

11. Wee forbid all soldyers to abandon or leave their quarters / and from going into Villages there abou ts / without leave or commaundement upon paine of death .

12. When the Companies come into a Garrison the Officers of the places shall set a price upon victuales / and take order that the prise thereof be not raysed / wherein the Provost Marshal of the place shal assist the Officers .

13. Wee prohibit the constraining of hosts to goe to buy any thing for Soldyers upon payne of death .

14. Wee forbid all Harbingers of Companyes to give Billets to any man / whatsoever he bee to long lodg in the Lords howses of the Villages or Parishes that shal be alotted them to lodg in / nor in ecclesiasticall persons howses / or to lodg more Soldyers in a howse then the nomber appointed by their Captaines upon payne for the first fault to be whipt and the second to be hangd .

15. To know and find out the bad actions and falts commicted in the quarters that are allotted out wee charge the sayd Harbingers upon payne of death / to make a note every daye of the lodgings that they shall appoint unto Soldpers / which they shall upon demmannd made by the Provost / Marshalls of the bandes or cheire Deputies ) deliver unto them .

16. If it shall fall out / that two Soldyers should quarrel / one with the other / he that is next unto than / shall seperate them / and if they continew and persit in the said quarrell / the Soldyers that are nere unto them shall presently advertise the Captaine thereof / that he maye committ them to the Provost Marshall that Iustice may be done / and if he that should be aprehended seekes to run awaye it shal be knowne in the Captaines rowle where he was quartered / that the Officers of the sayd place maye be advertised / that they may aprehend and keep him in prison / untill the next muster following shal be made / to be afterward delivered to the Provost Marshall / or to cause him to be punished openly in the place / as he shal be found to have deserved / or as it shall be thought good by advise at the sayd muster .

17. According to the Ordinances aforesayd touching foot-men all persons that are under our paye / that shal be taken / and aprehended by any Iudges / for any action that concernes the sayd militarie ordinances shal be sent before the Colonel or his Provost Marshall / that Iustice maye be don / upon those whose honor shal be chargeable / and in the places where there is a Garrison . The knowledg thereof shal be best to him or them that shall have authoritie to administer Iustice among the sayde Soldyers .

18. And for that some persons that are under our payd / in the sayd bandes to avoyde punishement according to our Marshall orders / maye seeke to infringe the Iurisdiction of the sayd Provost Marshall / under pretence of naming them selves to be howse houlders / or such like / wee ordaine / that all persons being under our payd in the sayd Landes / their servants and boyes / having committed any cryme or offence / tht Provost Marshall privilie take knowledg of the rest / and shall Iudg them according to our sayd Ordinances / notwithstanding any oppositions / or appellations that they maye make or all●dg / and that without respect thereof / he shall proceede to the execution of the Iudgment / that shall be given against them / having first taken the advice of the Colonel and Maister of the Campe as the manner is .

19. And for that there are many crimes and publicke offences / that are not named / declared / nor specifyed / in the Ordinances made for the foot-men . The sayd Provost Marshall of the bands / shall take knowledg thereof / and Iudg / and punishe the offenders by wayes and punishements / set downe and found in the civill Lawes / and our generall ordinances .

20. When any of the sayd Captaines shall finde any Soldyer that breaketh the Ordinances made for the Goverment of che foot-men / as well of his owne company or an other / he shall deliver him unto the Provost Marshall to doe Iustice on him which Captaines and Officers shall ayde and assist the sayd Provost Marshall and deputie where soever they be / and to assist at the executions of Iustice with their companies / as the manner is .

21. And where by connivence or otherwise / the Captaines will not assemble / in the absence of the sayd Colonell and Maister of the Campe / to give their advise / to Iudg any man by the sayd Provost Marshall / according to our ordinances / The processe of offenders which shal be in his hands / shall by the sayd Provost Marshal / proceede further to the iudgment of those that shal be called there unto by him / being as counsellors or other graduates / according to our ordinances / which he shall cause to be executed / notwithstanding any oppositions or appellations what soever made to the contrarie .

22. And for that under pretence of the sayd bands / divers vacabonds and people of no account will retire them selves into the same / and kepe about them / that committ divers falts and offences / wee commaund the Provost Marshall / to have an eye and speciall care there unto / as belonging unto his charge .

23. As well the Geoliers and kepers of our prisons and others shall be bownd to receave and kepe in their prisons and geoles / such malefactors as the sayd Provost Marshall shall commit unto them / or by his appointment shall be sent thether / untill definitive sentence shal be given against them / paying them their fees / and for their victuales .

24. And touching that which concerneth the civill law / as obligations / bills / or arests for actions of acconpts / victuales / or other matters made betweene Captaines Soldyers and others of our Subjects inhabitants of Townes / Villages / Marchands / and Victualers being present / in our marche / Campes / Armies or garrisons / or that are of the sayd bandes / the Provost Marschall of the same shall doe good / and speedie Iustice unto everp one .
