¶ Now let this corosiffe worke and take holde , Ephe. iij. and thinke whether these thingēs shal be found wythin you . And thus too awayte on your Capitayne Iesus Christe as his faithful souldyours . But it is to be feared yf we search the bottom of oure consciences , Luke . xii . there shal be founde packes full of iniquities wretchednesse and myserye , Psal. v. and all that leadethe vs to the open , mouthe of Hell , Menne naked wythoute armoure ouercome , Math. vii . Apoca. ii wyth euery larome , we maye be well callede freshe water souldiours , Mark . iiii not able to , to abyde one storme for oure lordes sake , ii . Cor. vi . Luk. xiiii psa. cxxvii we fall awaye with euerye tempest , when he bydeth vs for to abide , our manlines is torned into cowardnes , & thus for sake we our Lorde God but let vs remember what the holy prophete Dauid sayeth , Lorde , psal. xxvii ( saith he ) if thou doest for sake me , vnto whome shall I flee ? ii . Cor. iii. If the Lorde do not kepe the cite in vayne do they watche that kepe it . psal. lxix Lorde be thou oure tower , our castel & our defence , loke doun from heauen & confort thin ac̄ flicte . What at we withoute thy grace ? Let vs loke round about vs wythin & wythoute , & we be compassed wythe sinne . i. Cor. iii Math. xxi Thus in all Goodnes GOD gyuethe them encrese , but on out part wen ther plante nor water , we be the witheren fygge tree . Luke . viij Wee be the stony ground , no good frute can fructify , Marke . vi . we are baren voyde of all heauenvly grace , dispersed as people wythout order .

¶ O Christenllyfe , which at the dredfull day shulde be our trustes before our Lorde God , Rom. viii wher shall we fynd the ? for the multytude of synnes shal couer vs , we may not for our iniquities beholde the high iudge to receyue hys Kyngdom , Sapion . v. but openly to condemne oure selues , and receyue hys terryble iudgemente . psal. cxlv . Who shall then stande forth to be iustified by hys owne workes , or merytes ? ii . Pet. iii. What shall we do , or what shall we saye in that terryble day of vengeance , when heauen and earthe shal be altered ? Who shal be able to stande forth to pleade hys cause ? Esay . liii . And who shal be able to stande by hymself all alone ? Math. xi . Thus are wee pressed doune vnder the burden of sinne , that scarcely we can taste of God how pleasant he is .

But for so muche ( good brethren ) that the Lorde is mercifull , i. Petri. ii . & that hys mercy passethe all hys workes , Psa. cxvii for them that dothe beleue and repent , wyllyng to lay asyde the clogge of synne , let vs wythe honor and glory magnyfy wyth soule and body oure immortall God & euerlasting lord , i. Petri. ii . acknowledginge him to be the redemer and stole of grace , for all the synnes of the worlde . Roma . iii. And besydes at all tymes where soeuer it be in Church felde or Towne mery and sadde , to cary hym wythe vs in the spyrytuall partes of oure hartes , who hath promysed to be wyth vs vnto th end of the world . mat xxviii Further in all our worldly doynges to stande ryghte vp , Math. vii . and to do as we woulde be done reuerence to magnyfie him night and daye , for that the lawes of the Lorde doth appere , Collo . iiii hauynge theyre Consciences pure in all their procedynges , permittynge vs ( the pore subiectes ) the lybertie of Chrystes Gospell , Math. vi . and the Heauenlye worde of hys Godhead . For the whyche longe lyfe wythe the encrease of greate honoure maye be vnto hym Deutrono . xxvii Let vs saye hartely .
