WHereas the Queenes most excellent Maiestie , vpon information heretofore geuen vnto the same , of the great and excessiue pryces that Wines transported hither out of Fraunce , were growen vnto , much to the impoueryshing of this her realme , did ( for the preuenting of the inconuenience that was like to encrease & ensue therof ) by her Maiesties Proclamation , bearing date the xv day of Iuly , in the xvii . yeere of her raigne , notifie and publish virto such her Maiesties subiectes , as dyd and doo vse the trade of bryngying in those kyndes of Wynes , that they shoulde forbeare to bring into any parte of this Realme the sayde Wynes , vnlesse they myght vtter & vent them after the rate of ten pounds the Tunne , with al maner of extraordinary charges , vpon suche payne as in the sayde Proclamation is conteyned . And although her Maiesties good and gratious meaning therein , by the indirect and couetous practises of some persons that brought in the sayd Wines , toke not so good effect as her expectation was it should haue done : Yet her Maiestie and her priuie Counsel , fynding by good experience , that it is both necessary & profitable to her subiectes , to continue the order of the sayde former Proclamation , not onely for such Wynes as shal be hereafter brought into this Realme , out of the Countrey aforesaid , but also honorable to her Maiestie , to cause the same Proclamation to be duely executed for those that haue been brought in since the publishing therof , and remaine yes vnsolde by the Marchaunt . Therefore her Maiestie , with the aduise of her Counsel , straytely wylleth , chargeth , and commaundeth al her subjectes , and others , that shall bryng those Wynes into this Realme , duely to obserue the same rate and pryce of ten poundes the Tunne , with all maner of ordinary and extraordinary charges , vpon payne of imprisonment , and of such further penaltie and punyshment , as by any maner of Statute Lawe , or Prerogatiue , may be indicted vppon the transgressours and contemners thereof : Wherein her Maiesties intention is , and so the publisheth by these presentes , to all her sayde subjectes , that no fauour , tolleration , or qualification , shal be vsed vnto them , in respecte of the great benefyte that is lyke to redounde to this Realme , by the due obseruation thereof .

And whereas by the sayde last Proclamation , no order was set downe for the restraynyng of the excessyue prices of Retaylers and Vtterers of the sayde Wynes , of late yeeres exacted : Her Maiestie now by the aduice aforesayde , straytely commaundeth and chargeth , that none of the sayde Retaylers or Vtterers of the sayd ●ynes , shall sell any Wynes , alredie by them bought , and not vttered , or hereafter to be bought and retayled , 〈◇〉 aboue xvi . d . the Gallon : and so ratably and proportionably for other measures vnder the same , vpon payne of imprisonment and suche further penalties as may be any Statute heretofore in this behalfe prouided , be imposed or sayde vpon them , and as they wyl auoyde her hyghnesse indignation and displeasure .
