WHereas the Queenes Maiestie our most gratious soueraigne Ladie , by reason of the plague and pestilence , aswell in the Citie of London , as in the Citie of Westminster , did lately by her Highnes Proclamation adiourne part of the Tearme of saint Michael , that is to say , from the vtas thereof , vntill Mensis Michaelis , then to haue begun at the said Citie of Westminster , as at the place accustomed , her Maiestie had very great hope that the said sicknes , by the fauour of Almighty God , and by the coldenesse of the yeare , and other occasions , by that time would haue ceased . Neuerthelesse her Highnes being credibly informed , that the said sicknes increaseth within the said Cities of London and Westminster , is therefore minded for the better preseruation of her good Subjects of all degrees , that should repaire to London and Westminster by reason of the Tearme , to adiourne the saide Tearme from Mensis Michaelis aforesaid , vntill the returne of the same Terme , commonly called Crastino Martini , next comming , then to begin at Westminster as hath bene accustomed . Which her Maiestie signifieth to all and singuler her louing subiects of this her Realme , to the intent , that they , and euery of them , which hath cause or commandement to appeare in any of her highnesse courts at Westminster , on , or at any day or time , from , and after the said Mensis Michaelis , may tary at their dwellings , or where their businesse otherwise shall lye , without resorting to any of the said Courts for that cause , before the said the said returne of Crastino Martini next comming , and that without danger of forfeiture , penaltie , or contempt , to incurre towardes her Maiestie in that behalfe . And neuerthelesse ber Highnes pleasure is , that two of her Iustices , that is to say , of either bench one , shal the said Mensis Michaelis , according to the ancient order , adiourne her said two Courts at Westminster , at which day writtes of adiournement shal be directed to the saide Iustices , to adiourne the same , in and from the said Mensis Michaelis , vntill the said returne of Crastino Martini , as before is said : And her Maiesties pleasure is , that all matters causes & suites , depending in any of her other Courts betweene partie and partie , as in her Highnes Courts of Chancerie , Starre chamber , and Exchequer , Courts of wards and liueries , and Duchie of Lancaster , shall haue continuance , & the parties shall haue day from the date of these presents vntill the said returne of Crastino Martini as before is said ,

Prouided alwayes , and her Maiesties pleasure and commandement is , that all Collectors , Receiuers , Sheriffes , and other accomptants , and all other persons that ought or should accompt or pay any summe or summes of money in any of her Maiesties court of Exchequer , courts of wards and liueries , or of her Duchie of Lancaster , or any of them , or to enter into any accompt in any of the saide courts , shall at their dayes appointed , repaire vnto the accustomed places at Westminster , where her Highnesse hath appointed such officers ministers , as for that purpose her Maiestie hath thought expedient , and there to pay , and doe in euery behalfe , as though no such Proclamation of adiournement had bene had or made , any thing mentioned in this Proclamation , or in any wirt of adiournement to the contrary , notwithstanding . And her Highnes further pleasure and commandement is , that all Sheriffes shall returne their Writtes and Processe against all such accomptants and debters at the bares therein appointed . And if any person or persons who ought to accompt or pay any summe or summes of money to her Maiestie in any the said Courts & places aforesaid , do make default therein , That then her Highnes Writtes & Processe shal be awarded , and sent forth against euery such person and persons , and the same to be duely and orderly serued and returned by , the Sheriffes and Officers thereunto appointed , in such like manner and forme as the same should haue bene , if this present proclamation had not bene made . And if any Sheriffe or other Officer shall make default , or be negligent in seruing , executing and returning any the said writtes and Processe aforesaid : That then euery such Sheriffe and other Officer shall incurre such paines and penalties , as by the saide Courts , or any of them shal be taxed and assessed : Willing and commanding all and euery her Maiesties Sheriffes , officers , ministers and subiectes , to whom it doth or shall appertaine , to obserue and keep their assemblies and appearances , with all their returnes and certificats in her Highnesse said Courts at Westminster , in the saide returne of Crastino Martini , next comming , then and there with the fauour of God , to be holden & kept , & there to do their offices and dueties in euery behalfe , in like maner & forme as they should or ought to haue done , I this present Proclamation had not bene had or made , as they will answere to the contrary at their perils .
