WHere by Queenes most Excellent Maiestie , being giuen to vnderstand of a very great outrage lately committed by some Apprentices , and others being Masterlesse men , and vagrant persons , in and about the Suburbs of the Citie of London , in assaulting of the house of Lincolnes Inne , and the breaking and spoyling of diuers Chambers in the said House , which offences her Highnesse is minded to haue to be duely examined , and thereupon aswel the offenders therein , as also such persons of the said House of Lincolnes Inne , as did by any meanes giue any occasion to prouoke the same vnlawfull outrage , to be duely and very seuerely punished according to their demerits ; hath therefore thought good for the better auoyding of such like outrages hereafter ( by the aduise of Her Maiesties Priuie Counsell ) straightly to charge & command all such as be any Housholders within the seuerall Parishes of S. Dunstanes , S. Brides , S. Andrewes in Holborne , S. Giles in the field , S. Martin in the field , the Strond & S. Clement without the Temple Barre , that they and euery of them , doe cause all their Apprentices , Iourneymen , Seruants and family in their seuerall houses , other then such as shall bee appointed to keepe seuerall Watches , to tarry and abide within their seuerall houses , and not to be suffered to goe abroad after Nine of the clocke at night , vpon paine of imprisonment . And that all Constables , pettie Constables , and others being appointed to keepe any Watch or Watches , finding any such Apprentices , Iourneymen or seruants , wandering abroad out of their Master his House after Nine of the clocke in the night , shall not onely take and commit such person to prison , but also shal warne and command the Master of euery such person to come and appeare before the Alderman or his Deputie of that Ward , ( if he be within the Liberties of the Citie of London ) or else before some Iustices of Peace , if hee be without the Libertie of the Citie , there to answere to his contempt , for suffering his Apprentise or Seruant so to goe abroad , contrary to this Her Maiesties expresse commandement .

And Her Maiesties further pleasure is , that this order shall bee by euery of the said Housholders duely obserued and kept , for , and during the space of Sixe dayes , next ensuing the date of this Proclamation .

And further , her Highnesse doeth straightly charge command all such persons as be Masterlesse men , and other vagrant persons , not hauing wherewith to maintain-themselues , and being or abiding in any the Parishes aforesaid , That they and euery of them , doe presently depart from hence to the seuerall places where they were borne , vpon paine of imprisonment .
