WHereas , by three former Proclamations , one dated the twentieth of Nouember , another , the two and twentieth of December , in the twentieth yeere of Our Reigne , and the third , the sixe and twentieth day of March , in the one and twentieth yeere of Our Reigne ; We did publish Our Royall pleasure , concerning the repaire of the Lords Spirituall and Temporall , and of other persons of qualitie , from our Cities of London and Westminster , and the parts adiacent , and from other Cities and Townes , vnto their Countrey dwellings : In all which was so fully declared Our constant and setled resolution , as . We presumed , would haue cut off all hopes of change or alteration therein : Yet finding by experience , that such as are addicted vnto that course , of withdrawing themselues from their Countries , are prone to flatter themselues in their vaine humour ; We haue thought good ( once more ) to publish Our absolute and peremptorie command , That Our said Proclamations be in all points dutifully obeyed . And to the intent , that all such , as shall presume to contemne Our Royall commandements , ( so often iterated ) may feele the seueritie of Our iustice ; Wee doe hereby straitly charge all Maiors , Aldermen , Iustices of peace , and other head-Officers , aswell of Our said Cities of London and Westminster , and the parts adiacent , as of other Cities and Townes , That they from time to time , cause diligent suruey and inquirie to be made within their seuerall precincts , limits , and iurisdictions , of all offendors in this behalfe , and make speedie certificate of their names , without partialitie or conniuence , vnto the Lords of Our priuie Councell , or to Our Attourney generall , that they may be proceeded against in Our Court of Star-chamber , or otherwise , according to their demerits . And Our will and pleasure is , That aswell the Lords of Our priuie Councell , as Our Attourney generall , vse all care and diligence , to punish with seueritie , aswell the partialitie , negligence , and remissenesse of the said Maiors , Aldermen , Iustices of peace , and other head-Officers , in not making due suruey or certificate , as aforesaid , as the contemptuous behauiour of such , as shall presume to violate this , or any other Our said former Proclamations .
