THE King , our Soueraigne Lord CHARLES , by the Grace of God , King of Great Britaine , France and Ireland , Defendour of the Faith , &c. doth giue to vnderstand to all his most louing , faithfull and obdient Subiects , and to euery of them , That , whereas it hath pleased Almightie God , on Sunday , the seauen and twentieth day of this moneth of March , to call vnto his infinite mercy , the most excellent High and mighty Prince , King Iames , of most noble and blessed memorie , his Maiesties most deare , and most entirely beloued father , whereby the Kings Maiestie , now being his onely sonne and vndoubted Heire , is inuested and established in the Crowne Imperiall of this Realme , and all other his Maiesties Realmes , Dominions , and Countreys , will all Regalities , preheminences , stiles , names , titles , and dignities to the same belonging , or in any wise appertaining : The same our Soueraigne Lord doth signifie vnto all His most louing , faithfull , and obedient Subiects , that , like as his Maiestie for his part , shall by Gods grace shew himselfe a most gracious and benigne Soueraigne Lord to all his good Subiects , in all their iust and lawfull suites and causes : So his Maiestie mistrusteth not but they , and euery of them , will againe on their parts , at all times , and in all cases shew themselues vnto his Maiestie , their naturall liege Lord , most louing , faithfull , and obedient Subiects , according to their most bounden dueties and allegiances , whereby they shall please Almighty God , and doe that which shall tend to their owne preseruations and safeties ; Willing and commanding all persons of all estates , degrees and conditions , to see his peace duely kept , and to be obedient to his Lawes , as they tender his Maiesties gratious fauour , and will answere for the contrary at their vttermost perils .
