WHereas Wee are informed that diuers of the Souldiers Billeted , and prouided for in seuerall Countyes of this Our Realme , ( doe notwithstanding Our Princely care of them , and Our Royall directions giuen for keeping them there in good order ) wilfully continue , lurke and remaine in Our Citie of London , or the Suburbs of the same , and straggle vp and down in the high wayes , and other places , to the ill example of the rest , the offence of Our peple , and contempt of Our Commandement in that behalfe : Wee haue thought fit , with the aduice of Our Priuy Counsell , hereby to publish and declare Our Royall pleasure , and expresse Commandement , That all Souldiers remaining and lurking in or neere Our said Citie of London , or the Suburbs therof , or elswhere , and which were or are in Our pay , doe foorthwith repaire into that Countie where the body of that Regiment , to which they respectiuely belong , is Billetted , and there remaine with their fellowes , and demeane themselues in orderly manner , vpon paine of Our Indignation and high displeasure : And that all such Souldiers as shall be so found in or about Our sayd Citie , and the Suburbs thereof , or elswhere , contrary to this Our Proclamation , and shall not presently , after the publication hereof , repaire to the Companies of those Regiments whereunto they respectiuely belong , to be there Billeted and remaine with their fellowes , shall be reputed and taken as Vagrants : And such as shall doe any violence or outrage , or otherwise carie themselues then becommeth Souldiers in orderly discipline , shall be proceeded against by the course of Marshall law , or otherwise ; straitly charging and commanding all Maiors , Sheriffes , Iustices of Peace , Bayliffes , Constables , and other Our Officers and Ministers , from time to time , to make diligent search and searches for all such Souldiers , as now are , or hereafter shall be found offending against the tru● meaning of this Our Proclamation within their seuerall Limits and Iurisdictions respecti●●ly , and them to apprehend , and cause to be imprisoned in the next Gaole to the place where they ●●●ll bee found , to be proceeded against , and punished according to the tenour of these presents , as Our said Officers , and euery of them , tender Our Royall pleasure and Command , and will answ●●e for the contrary at their perils .
