WHereas diuers Complaints haue of late come vnto Vs , from the Inhabitants of Algier , Tunis , Sallie , & Tituan , & the Countreys vnder the same gouernments , of diuers great wrongs done vnto them at Sea , by some of Our Subiects , which , if it haue beene done , is contrary to Our Royall intention , and without any Warrant from Vs : Wee taking this into Our Princely consideration , and tendring , as wel the good vsage of all those , with whom Our Subiects haue , or shall haue Commerce and Entercourse , as the good and safety of Our Subiects trading into those Parts , by the Aduice of Our Priuie Counsell , doe hereby publish and declare Our Royall pleasure , and doe straitly charge and command all Our louing Subiects , of what sort , qualitie or degree soeuer they be , whom it may any wayes concerne , that they doe from hencefoorth forbeare all acts of Hostility , or to offer any violence , or ill vsage vnto any the persons Shippes , or goods belonging , or which shall belong to Algier , Tunis , Tituan , Sallie , or any other Port or part of those Countreys which are vnder the same gouernment , as they will answere the contrary at their perils , and would auoyd Our high and heauie displeasure , and such paines and punishments , as by Our Lawes may bee imposed , or inflicted vpon them for their contempt , or neglect herein .
