AT the Election for a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Monmouth in the County of Monmouth , ( which Borough sends but one Burgess ) there were Competitors ,

The Honourable CHARLES Lord HERBERT , Eldest Son to the Marquiss of Worcester ; And JOHN ARNOLD Esq

Mr. Arnold had the Majority of Votes ; but the Mayor of Monmouth unduly Return'd the Lord Herbert .

The Merits of this Election are to be heard before the Committee of Elections and Priviledges , on Wednesday the 24th day of this Instant November , 1680.
