I.A.B. in humility & reverence of the Diuine maiesty , declare my hearty sorrow for my owne sins , & the sins of this Nation , which haue deserved the Calamities & Iudgm ts that now by upon it , And my true intention is , by God's grace , to endeauour the amendmt of my own wayes ; And that I do abhor & detest the said wicked & treacherous Designe lately discovered ; & that I neuer gaue , nor will give my assent to the Execution thereof , but will , according to my power & vocation , oppose & resist the same , & all other of the like nature : And in case any other like Designe shall hereafter come to my knowledge , I will make such timely discouery as I shall conceiue may best conduce to the preuenting thereof , And whereas I do in my Conscience beleiue , that the Forces raised by the two Houses of Parliamt are raised & continued for their iust defence , & for the defence of the true Protestant Religion , & Liberties of the Subiect , against the forces raised by the King : I do , here in the presence of Almighty God , declare , vow , & Couenant , that I will , according to my power & vocation , assist the Forces raised & continued by both Houses of Parliamt , against the Forces raised by the King without their Consent ; And will likewise assist all other persons that shall take this Oath , in with they shall do in Pursuance thereof , And will not directly or indirectly adhere unto , nor shall willingly assist the Forces raised by the king without the consent of both Houses of Parliamt. And this vow & covenant I make in the presence of Almighty God , the Searcher of all hearts , with a true intention to ꝑforme the same , as I shall answer at the great day , when the Secrets of all Hearts shal be disclosed .

This House doth declare , that all those that shall not take this Vow , & Covenant , shall forth with be Disarmed , And no Souldiers entertayn'd , shall receive pay untill they have taken it .
