WHereas
the
present
Condition
and
Danger
of
this
Kingdoem
doth
require
from
all
his
Maiesties
good
and
faithfull
Subjects
of
the
same
,
a
speedie
Levie
of
Forces
,
aswell
for
the
Defence
of
His
Majesties
Crowne
and
Dignitie
,
and
the
persons
and
estates
of
His
Majesties
faithfull
people
of
this
Realme
,
as
for
the
opposing
and
suppressing
of
the
now
rebellious
Disturbers
of
the
generall
peace
and
quite
of
this
land
.
It
is
therefore
this
day
ordered
by
the
Lords
Spirituall
and
Temporall
and
Commons
in
Parliament
assembled
,
that
it
shall
and
may
be
lawfull
for
such
Counties
of
this
Kingdome
,
as
His
most
Excellent
Majestie
,
or
the
chiefe
Governour
,
or
Governours
,
and
Councell
of
this
Realme
shall
appoint
,
to
raise
and
continue
such
a
convenient
number
of
Armed
men
of
Horse
and
Foot
,
during
the
present
troubles
and
distempers
of
this
Realme
,
as
the
said
Counties
respectively
shall
thinke
fit
,
and
that
it
shall
be
lawfull
for
every
such
Countie
by
licence
of
His
Majestie
,
or
his
chiefe
Governour
or
Governours
of
this
Kingdome
to
provide
and
import
Armes
and
Amunition
for
the
said
men
,
and
the
said
Counties
respectively
at
their
Election
to
appoint
Commanders
over
the
said
Forces
for
the
defence
of
each
of
the
said
Counties
,
and
for
His
Majesties
further
Service
in
this
Kingdome
.
And
to
assesse
,
collect
and
levie
,
as
equally
as
they
can
,
money
for
providing
Armes
and
Amunition
,
and
for
such
competent
Maintenance
for
the
support
of
the
said
Horse
and
Foot
in
every
of
the
said
Counties
respectively
,
and
in
such
manner
and
forme
as
every
of
the
said
Counties
in
their
discretions
respectively
shall
thinke
fit
,
while
they
shall
continue
in
their
proper
Counties
respectively
.
And
it
is
further
ordered
that
the
Sheriffe
of
every
such
Countie
shall
assemble
the
Lords
,
Gentlemen
and
Freeholders
thereof
after
timely
and
convenient
notice
unto
them
given
of
the
time
and
place
of
meeting
,
for
the
speedie
accomplishment
of
the
premisses
,
and
of
all
other
things
thereunto
conducing
,
as
often
as
the
Service
shall
require
the
same
.
