A PROCLAMATION , For Adjourning the Parliament , until the seventeenth day of Apryl 1682.

CHARLES , by the grace of GOD , King of Great Britain , France , and Ireland , Defender of the Faith ; To Our Lyon King at Arms , and his Brethren , Heraulds , Macers of our Privy Council , Pursevants , Messengers at Arms , Our Sheriffs in that part , conjunctly and severally specially constitute , Greeting : Whereas , by the last Act of the last Session of Our current Parliament , holden in this Our Ancient Kingdom , by Our most dear , and most intirely beloved Brother , The same was by Us , declared current , and Adjourned , until the first day of March next insueing . And We being fully resolved , not to part so soon with so Loyal , and so Dutiful a Parliament ; Yet the state of Our Affairs in this Kingdom , not requiring that they should meet at the day foresaid : We have therefore appointed , that the said Adjournment shall be continued : Likeas , We , with adivce of the Lords of Our Privy Council , do hereby Adjourn the meeting of Our current Parliament until the seventeenth day of Apryl next ensueing . And to the effect all Persons concerned , may have notice thereof ; OUR WILL IS , and We strictly Command and Charge you , That incontinent , these Our Letters seen , ye passe to the Mercat Cross of Edinburgh , and other Places needful , and there , in Our Name and Authority , make Publication of this Our Adjournment of the said meeting of Our Parliament , untill the said seventeenth day of Apryl next insueing , according to Justice , as ye will answer to Us thereupon : the which to do , We commit to you , conjunctly and severally , Our full power by these Our Letters , delivering them by you duly Execute and Indorsed again to the bearer .
