FOrasmuch as it hath pleased the Kings Majesty , by a Letter , dated at Whitehall the sirth of this instant , directed to His Majesties Privy Council ; bearing , that whereas , His Majesty , by a Letter of the date the twenty third day of January , the year of GOD , one thousand six hundred and sixty three , did appoint a Proclamation to be issued forth , suspending the paiment of the Fines , imposed by an Act of the second Session of the last Parliament , entituled , Anent persons excepted forth of the Act of Indempnity , dated at Edinburgh the ninth of September , in the year of GOD foresaid , untill His Majesty should declare His further pleasure , suspending also the penalties for not paiment in the interim ; therefore to appoint a new Proclamation to be issued in His Majesties name , requiring and commanding all such fined persons , who shall be charged in name of the Lord Thesaurer , Thesaurer-depute or Advocat , betwixt the date hereof and the first day of Angust , in this instant year of GOD , one thousand six hundred and sixty four , to make paiment to such as His Majesty shall authorize , of the first half of the Fines imposed by the Act of Parliament , betwixt and the first terme of Martimass next thereafter , under the pains and penalties contained in the said Act ; as also , those same persons who shall be charged to pay the second moyety at or before the terme of Candlemass next following , in the year , one thousand six hundred and sixty five , under the pains contained in the said Act. Therefore , the Lords of His Majesties Privy Council , in obedience of His Majesties commands , ordains a Macer to make intimation of His Majesties Royal pleasure foresaid , concerning the fined persons by the said Act of Parliament , by open Proclamation at the Mercat-cross of Edinburgh , requiring and commanding , in His Majesties name , all persons concerned , to give obedience as they will be answerable , under all highest pains ; and declares the same to be as sufficient , as if Proclamation were made at the Mercat-crosses of the head Burghs of the several Shires of this Kingdom . And ordains these presents to be printed , and published in maner foresaid , that none pretend ignorance .
