PROCLAMATION Adjourning the Parliament to the fourth Day of July 1700. WILLIAM by the Grace of GOD , King of Great-Britain , France and Ireland , Defender of the Faith ; To Our Lyon King at Arms , his Brethren Heraulds , Macers of Our Privy Council , Pursevants , Messengers at Arms , Our Sheriffs in that part , conjunctly and severally , specially Constitute , Greeting :

Forasmuchas , Our right Trustie and right intirely beloved Cousin and Counsellor , James Duke of Queensberry Our Commissioner , did on good Reasons Adjourn the present Session of Our current Parliament of this Our antient Kingdom of Scotland , to the Twenty Day of June instant , with which We are well satisfied , and do approve the same ; And We finding that the present Circumstances of of Our Affairs require a farder Adjournment ; Therefore , and that the Members of Our said Parliament may not be put to unnecessar Attendence , We with Advice of the Lords of Our Privy Council , have Adjourned and hereby Adjourn this Our said current Parliament from the said Twentieth Day of June instant , to the Fourth Day of July next to come ; And We do hereby Order and Require all the Members of Our said Parliament , to attend at Edinburgh the said Fourth day of July next to come to which Our said Parliament is Adjourned ) in the usual way , and under the Pains contained in the several Acts of Parliament made thereannet . OUR WILL IS HEREFORE , and We Charge you strictly and Command , that incontinent these Our Letters seen , ye pass to the Mercat-Cross of Edinburgh , and to the Mercat-Crosses of the remanent Head-burghs of the several Shires and Stewartries of this Our Ancient Kingdom , and there by open Proclamation , make Intimation , that Our said Parliament is Adjourned from the said Twentieth Day of June instant , to the said fourth day of July next to come : And Ordains these Presents to be Printed .
