THe Kings most Excellent Maiestie , taking knowledge , aswell by the humble Petition and Aduice of the Lords Spirituall and Temporall , and Commons now assembled in Parliament , as otherwise , of the manifold Inconueniences and dangers , occasioned by the multitude of Iesuites , Seminary Priestes , and others , that haue taken Orders by authority deriued from the Sea of Rome , now harboured within this Realme , and by their Boldnesse and Insolencie , in Seducing and withdrawing His Maiesties Subiects , not onely from the Religion here established , but also from their Obedience and Allegiance to His Maiestie , hath thought good ( for abolishing of this growing euill , and preuention of the like in time to come ) hereby to publish His Royall pleasure ; And doth by this his Proclamation strictly charge and command all Iesuites , Seminary Priests , and all others that haue taken Orders by any authority deriued from the Sea of Rome , now resident , or being within this His Maiesties Realme of England , or the Dominion of Wales , That they , and euery of them , doe before the fourteenth day of Iune next ensuing the date hereof , make their repaire to some of His Maiesties Ports within the said Realme or Dominion , and from thence to Transport themselues out of the same , with the first opportunitie of Winde and Weather , into some forreine parts beyond the Sea , and neuer after to returne into this Realme ; And that all other Iesuites , Seminary Priestes , and others , hauing taken Orders by authority deriued from the Sea of Rome , doe wholly forbeare , at any time hereafter to come within this His Maiesties Realme of England , or Dominion of Wales , vpon paine , that all such as shall bee found within this Realme , or Dominion of Wales , after the said fourteenth day of Iune , shall vndergoe the vttermost seuerity and punishment , which by the Lawes , in that behalfe made , can bee inflicted vpon them : And also , that no person , or persons whatsoeuer , within this His Maiesties Realme , or the Dominion of Wales , doe , after the said foureteenth day of Iune next , harbour , entertaine , receiue , relieue , or cherish any such Iesuite , Seminary Priest , or other person , hauing taken Orders by authoritie deriued from the said Sea of Rome , vpon paine , that euery person offending therein , contrary to this His Maiesties Proclamation , shall vndergoe the vttermost seuerity of the Lawes prouided for such offences .

And for the better execution of these His Maiesties directions , and Royall pleasure signified hereby , His Maiestie doeth Will , Require and Command , all and singular Archbishops , Bishops , Lord Lieutenants , Iudges , Iustices of Assise , deputy Lieutenants , Iustices of Peace , and all other His Officers , and Ministers whatsoeuer , to bee vigilant and carefull to doe their dueties and diligence in discouering and apprehending of all the said Iesuites , Seminary Priestes , and all others offending in any the Premisses , after the said foureteenth day of Iune , and to cause all the Lawes and Statutes of this Realme , now in force against them , or any of them , without fauour , to bee put in due and exact execution against them , as they tender His Maiesties pleasure , and will answere the contrary .
