WHEREAS , upon deliberate and mature debate and consideration had with Our Privy-Councell , and consideration had of the opinions , as well of the Masters and Wardens of Our Mint , as of severall Merchants and others of good experience and understanding in Trade , It is conceived , that it would conduce much to the advancement and quickning of Trade in these distracted times , and the taking off the Cloth and Manufactures of this Kingdome , if the severall pieces or species of Forreigne Coyne hereafter specified , were made currant within this our Kingdom of England , and dominion of Wales , at the rates and values herein also mentioned ; We have th 〈…〉 the advice of Our Privy , Councell publish●d this Our ●●●clamation , and doe hereby ordaine , appoynt , and Declare , That from and after the date of this Our Proclamation , and untill We shall otherwise ordaine , and that Our pleasure shall be Published and Declared to the Contrary , these Peices or species of Forreign Coyn , that is to say the Ducatoone weighing one ounce and twenty graines ; The Imperiall Rix Dollers weighing Eighteen penny weight and twelve graines ; The Crosse Dollers , weighing Eighteen penny weight ; The Spanish peices of Eight weighing Seventeen penny weight and twelve graines ; The Quartdecue of France weighing Six penny weight and fower graines ; The Double Ryder of the Low Countries , weighing equall with the two and twenty shillings peice of the Coyne of Our deare Father King JAMES of Blessed memory ; And the Spanish Double Pistoll weighing fower penny weight and eight graines , shall be currant mony within this our Kingdom of England and Dominion Wales , and shall be so accompted ; and shall be taken accepted and allowed in all Payments and Receipts , at and for the respective rates and values hereafter specified , that is to say , the Ducatoone weighing as aforesaid , at and for the rate or value of Five shillings & sixpence currant mony of England ; The Imperiall Rix Doller weighing as aforesaid , at and for the rate or value of Fower shillings and eight pence ; The Crosse Doller weighing as aforesaid , at and for the rate or value of Fower shillings and six pence ; The Spanish peices of Eight , weighing as aforesaid , at and for the rate or value of Fower shillings and six pence ; The Quartdecue of France weighing as aforesaid , at and for the rate or value of one shilling and sixpence ; The Double Rider of the Low Countries weighing as aforesaid , at and for the rate and value of one Pound one Shilling and sixpence ; And the Spanish Double Pistoll weighing as aforesaid , at and for the rate or value of Fifteen shillings of currant mony of England . And We doe hereby Require and Command all Persons whatsoever within this Our Kingdom of England and Dominion of Wales , to accept and allow of the said Pieces of Forreign Coyne of the severall and respective weights before mentioned , at and for the severall rates and values aforesaid , in all payments and Receipts .
