Another ORDER OF The Commons assembled in Parliament , Concerning COALS : Requiring the Lord Major of the city of London , forthwith to put the former Ordinance concerning the prises of Coals in execution ; and in case he finde any obstruction therein , to seize on the Coals of such persons , and dispose of them at three and twenty shillings the Chaldron . Also , an Order of the Commons concerning such persons as shall refuse to execute the Ordinance for sequestring and seizing Delinquents and Papists Estates .

Ordered by the Commons Assembled in Parliament , That these Orders be forthwith Printed and published .

Die Sabbathi 15. April . 1643. An Order of the COMMONS asassembled in Parliament , concerning COALS .

FOrasmuch as this House hath been informed , that notwithstanding the Ordinance concerning the prizes of Coals yet the Wharfingers , Chandlers , and Coal-sellers , do exact unreasonable prises , to the great oppression of the poorer sort of the Inhabitants of the city of London , and the parts adjacent ; It is therefore ordered by the Commons assembled in Parliament , That the Lord Major do forthwith put the Order in execution concerning the price of coals ; and that he give a speedy account thereof to this House , that in case he finde any Obstruction , this House may think of a course to remove the same ; and that such as shall refuse to conform themselves to that Ordinance , The Lord Major do forthwith seize on their coals , and dispose of them to the poor , paying for them after the Rate set upon them according to that Ordinance ; And the Moneys thereupon to be raised , to be payed to the owners of the coals ; And likewise that he take care , that the Chandlers and others Retaylers of coals , do not sell any coals by the Bushell , or any other way of Retayl , at any higher or greater Rate , then according to the Rate of Three and twenty shillings the chaldron , according as it is limited and appointed by the said Ordinance ; And that they be compelled to sell according to the said Rate : And it is further ordered , That the Marshall of the Admiralty be ordered to take a course , that such Ships as are laden with coals , bee brought to London to vent them .

And it is further ordered by the said Commons , That this Order be forthwith printed and published :

IT is this day ordered by the Commons House of Parliament , That such particular persons of the Committees or Commissioners , named and appointed in the severall and respective Ordinances of both Houses of Parliament for the raising of Monies for the service of the Parliament , in any Cities , Towns , or counties of the Kingdom of England , and Dominion of Wales , as shall refuse to joyn , or sign any Warrants , or to meet the rest of the Committees or Commissioners , or to Act upon the said Ordinances for the service of the Parliament , expressed in the said Ordinances , and shall not be detained by sicknesse , or other inevitable Impediments , shal be reputed , and taken as persons ill-affected to the service of the Parliament ; And it is further ordered , That the Names of all such persons for refusing or neglecting this service , shall be returned to the House of Commons by the residue of the said Committees or Commissioners , That thereupon the said House may take order that the said persons Estates shall be seized , according to the Ordinance for sequestring and seizing the Estates of Papists and notorious Delinquents .
