So that by this Bill all Silks are Prohibited , and all Callicoes , except such as are entirely White , as is also almost the Whole China Trade .

LIST of Goods Prohibited by the Bill for Restraining the Wearing East-India Silks and Callicoes .

Five Queries Humbly Tender'd , Relating to the Bill for Prohibiting the Consumption of East-India Silks , Bengals and Printed Callicoes .

I. WHY Should East-India Silks and Bengals be Prohibited which to the Nation are Three Times as Cheap again as Dutch , French and Italian Silks .

II . Why East-India Silks , Bengals and Printed Callicoes , that Pay Twenty per Cent . Customs more than Dutch and Italian Silks , and Five times the Freight of Dutch , French and Italian Silks .

III . Why Persia Silks Purchased with English Cloth and Stuffs more than Dutch , French and Italian Silks bought with our Money .

IV . Why should Painted Callicoes from India be Prohibited , when We must in their Room Print Dutch , French or German Linnens , which will Cost the Nation Three Times the Price .

V. Why should we Enrich our Neighbours by Prohibiting East-India Silks and wearing of theirs , when at one time or other they may Employ the Costs of those Silks against Us.
