FOR preventing Inconveniences that may happen by Persons keeping Ale-Houses and Victualing-Houses , who dissent from the Discipline of the Church of England , It is Ordered by this Court , That all House-keepers within this City and the Liberties thereof , who keep any Ale-House or other Publick-House for Entertainment , by virtue of any Licence from any Iustice or Iustices of the Peace within this City , and shall not constantly ( without a Lawful Excuse ) go to their Parish-Church , or some other Church or Chappel , there to hear Divine Service according to the Law . And shall hereafter go to any Vnlawful and Seditious Conventicle or Meeting , under Colour or Pretence of any Exercise of Religion , contrary to the Laws and Statutes of this Kingdom , shall not have any Licence for the future Granted unto them , or any of them , to keep any Ale-House or Victualing-House within this City and the Liberties thereof . And , It is Ordered , That several Printed Copies of this Order be sent to , and left with the Aldermen of every Ward , for the better Observation thereof .

FOr the better Observance of this ORDER , It is by this Court Recommended to the several Aldermen of this City , Not to grant a Certificate to the Justices of the Peace , for any Person to keep an Ale-House in their Ward , unless they bring a Testimonial , under the Hand of the Minister and Church-Wardens of their respective Parish , of their Conformity , pursuant to the Intent of the aforesaid ORDER .
